The State Line Gem and Mineral Society

The State Line Gem and Mineral Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  It's purpose is to promote interest and increase knowledge in the fields of mineralogy, geology, and the lapidary arts.   This club was established in Nov, 1961.

Meetings are held the first Sunday of each month at 2pm at the clubhouse located at 201 W Main St., Morenci, MI  49256.   We offer classes in cabochon cutting and polishing as well as formal classes in soapstone carving, wire wrapping, spool knitting, and other lapidary related areas such as creating jewelry with beads and stained glass cutting, shaping, copper foiling and soldering.  Club activities also include field trips to museums and other lapidary club's shows.  In the past, this club has traveled to Flint Ridge, OH, St Johnsville, NY, North River, NY, Keokuk, IA, and Southern Indiana.

Yearly membership:     $15.00 per family
                                    $10.00 per individual
