CITY OF MORENCI REMINDS RESIDENTS OF THE CITY, CHESTERFIELD, MEDINA, AND SENECA TOWNSHIPS ON PROCEDURE TO OBTAIN A BURN PERMIT

Residents seeking a burn permit in the Morenci Area are to call Morenci City Hall at (517) 458 - 6828 and speak to a staff person. Calling hours will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Your information, name, address and what you will be burning will be taken down. You will no longer need a burn permit number. Permits are valid for 3 days from the issue date. Morenci Fire Chief Brad Lonis has the right to revoke or deny any permit. Failure to obtain a Burn Permit will result in the fire being extinguished and you will receive a bill from the Morenci Fire Department.

No burning of leaves, building materials, grass, or brush is allowed in the City of Morenci.  Recreational cooking fires are fine in the City as long as it is in a fire ring and the enclosure is away from all structures. If you have any questions regarding this, please call Morenci City Hall.
