At the recommendation of local public safety officials and to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, the City of Morenci is closing the City Offices to the public effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020 to protect our citizens and staff.

If you require to speak with staff, please call to set up an appointment. The phone number is (517) 458-6828 if you are seeking an appointment with someone at the City of Morenci Administrative Department or to seek general information.

If you are seeking the Morenci Police Department, please call (517) 458-7104. If unavailable at that phone number, please call Lenawee County Central Dispatch at (517) 263-0524 and press 0.

Business may be conducted via U.S. Mail, the night drop-box, online at, or through phone at (517) 458-6828. The night drop-box will be processed continually.

Pursuant to Executive Directive No. 2020-2 signed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on March 13, 2020 alternative methods to hold public meetings, such as City Council, Planning Commission, and Downtown Development Authority (DDA) meetings are being looked into. At this time, public meetings for the remainder of March are canceled.

To stop the spread of COVID-19 Virus, the City of Morenci will be practicing social distancing. All public buildings and spaces will be closed to visitors and only on-duty personnel will be permitted in such public buildings and spaces during this time.

This policy is in effect until further notice.
