The 43rd Annual Morenci Town & Country Festival is just one week away! Check out the exciting lineup of activities and entertainment it brings for visitors to enjoy!
Carnival Rides: The festival features a variety of thrilling rides and games. Rides open at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Royalty Contest: Scheduled Thursday, June 15 at 5:00 p.m., the contest includes four age divisions: 0-3yrs, 4-7yrs, 8-12 yrs, and 13-18 yrs. Participants will compete in their division for the title "Miss Town and Country Festival Princess or Queen." Crowned princesses and queens are invited to ride in the parade on Saturday. Little League Games: Morenci Little League teams participate in baseball and softball games, providing a chance for families and fans to cheer on their Bulldogs. Games are scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and all day on Saturday.
Frozen T-Shirt Contest: Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Friday at 5:00 p.m., teams of two are invited to participate in the challenge of thawing and wearing a frozen T-shirt as quickly as possible. It's an entertaining event for both participants and spectators. The cost is $5 per team, and winners receive half of the total entry fees.
Open Mic Jam: The Open Mic Jam provides a platform for local musicians, singers, and performers to showcase their talents on the main stage Friday, June 15, 7:30-10:00 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a variety of live performances during this time.
Parade: Scheduled for Saturday, June 17 at 11:00 a.m., this year’s parade will feature floats by businesses, community groups, and pageant queens. All are welcome to participate! Click this link for the registration form.
Bingo: Bingo is open at the west shelter house on Friday, June 16 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday 1-9 p.m. for $0.25 per card played. Prizes include Chamber of Commerce “Morenci Money” to local businesses and plants from R & W Nursery.
Corn Hole: This competitive game will take place on the tennis courts on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Registration begins at noon and it is $10 to enter. Partners are chosen by blind draw, with 100% payout to the winners. Contact Deryl at (517) 403-7045 to register.
Kids Power Wheel Mud Drags: Children ages 3-8 are invited to the north end of Wakefield Park on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. to race on the muddy course. Each participant is entered in a drawing to win a Power Wheel. Trophies are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Free to enter!
Concerts: Two bands, "Crossing Woodward" and "Mass Saga," will perform at the festival, entertaining the crowd with their live music and performances on Friday and Saturday nights, 7:00-10:00 p.m. on the main stage.
Merchant and Food Vendors: Local merchants and food vendors set up booths, offering a range of products, crafts, and delicious food options for festival-goers. Merchant vendors interested in setting up at the Town and Country Festival can register using this link.
Fireworks: The festival culminates with a dazzling fireworks display, providing a colorful and mesmerizing spectacle for all to enjoy. Fireworks are scheduled for Saturday evening at 10:20 p.m.
