Come to Morenci, Michigan on Saturday, December 2 to kick-start your holiday season!
The Lighted Holiday Parade, hosted by Morenci Area Chamber of Commerce, begins at 6:00 p.m. at Morenci High School. The parade will travel west on Coomer St., south on N. East St., west on Main St., ending at Wakefield Park.
Following the parade, gather around the Community Christmas Tree at Wakefield Park as Mayor Seger and Mayor-elect Schell light it for the 3rd Annual Ceremony. As the tree is illuminated, enjoy a performance by Morenci MS/HS Marching Band. Members of Morenci Middle School Student Council will be serving doughnuts and warm cider, generously sponsored by General Broach.
New this year, Santa will visit Wakefield Park after the parade and invites families to visit for cookies, gifts and photos. Santa's visit is hosted by Morenci Chamber of Commerce, which will also be giving away two turkeys, two hams, and other prizes. Each family that attends will receive a ticket for the drawing.
Area businesses and organizations are welcome to participate in the Lighted Holiday Parade. Parade participation forms are available at City Service, at lineup at the MHS parking lot at 5:15 p.m., or by clicking here.
