An update from DPW Supervisor Ted Hutchison: The DPW has successfully repaired the water main. Residents can expect their water supply and pressure restored within the next 90 minutes. The boil water advisory is still in effect until further notice. An update will be posted on our website, Facebook page, and sent to City of Morenci Alert System subscribers when the 24-hour test results are received. If you are not yet subscribed to receive text, email, and/or phone call alert notifications, please call City Hall at (517)458-6828, or click here to fill out the online form to sign up.
The water is safe for bathing and laundering. Please take caution when washing white clothing due to potential water discoloration. As a reminder, drinking and cooking water should be boiled for at least five minutes before it is used. If the water is used for drinking purposes, it should be allowed to cool in a sealed container. Bacterial testing of the system will be completed according to EGLE quality standards prior to lifting the boil water order. Please contact Ted Hutchison at (517)306-0023 with any questions.
