The City of Morenci Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin curbside brush pick-up on May 1, 2024. Brush may now be placed to the curb at any time and will be picked up by the DPW on a regular basis.
If a large amount of brush is placed at the curb, the resident may call City Hall at (517)458-6828 to notify the DPW and facilitate a sooner pick-up.
Residents are welcome to discard their brush behind the DPW building at 597 W. Chestnut Street for immediate disposal.
To ensure safety and efficiency with brush pick-up, the City of Morenci asks residents to follow the guidelines below.
• No bundling of brush.
• Brush should be placed only on the curb of the boulevard of the street. Do not place brush in the road.
• Brush should be free of foreign objects. If such are found in brush piles, brush piles will be left with the homeowner responsible for disposing of such piles.
• Brush should be kept to six (6) inches in diameter and six (6) feet in length. Brush larger than this will not be picked up and will be left to the responsibility of the homeowner.
• Brush should be piled at least 20 feet away from a fire hydrant.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding brush piles, please contact DPW Supervisor Ted Hutchison at (517)306-0023.
