An update from DPW Water Operator-in-Charge: The DPW successfully repaired the compromised water main late this morning. Residents should now have their water supply and pressure restored. The boil water advisory is still in effect until further notice for residents west of Bean Creek, not including Gorham St. An update will be posted on our website, social media, and sent to City of Morenci Alert System subscribers when the 24-hour test results are received. Two consecutive 24-hour test results must come back clear in order to lift the boil water advisory.
The water is safe for bathing and laundering. Please take caution when washing white clothing due to potential water discoloration. As a reminder, drinking and cooking water should be boiled for at least five minutes before it is used. If the water is used for drinking purposes, it should be allowed to cool in a sealed container.
