Summer Reading Program

Area children are invited to “travel” around the world and engage in fun literacy activities at Stair District Library this summer! Join in for eight weeks of entertaining and educational activities in the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” travel-themed Summer Reading Program.

Kids can participate in as many sessions as they’re able to on Wednesdays June 19 to Aug. 7 while keeping track of their daily reading for exciting rewards.

Reading Tracker Incentives

Children of all ages are invited to complete reading logs to keep track of their daily reading. To encourage and foster this important skill, Stair District Library will reward these efforts with prizes such as ice cream certificates, Croc gibbets, adventure-themed merchandise, and a special Summer Reading Program keepsake for the most dedicated participants!

VolunTeens: Grades 7-12

Students in grades 7 to 12 are invited to become VolunTeens! Their contribution is vital to the success of the Summer Reading Program. They collaborate to organize programs, assist with clean-up, and serve as positive role models for younger participants in our reading community. In addition to gaining valuable teamwork experience, students can also include this involvement on their college and career applications. VolunTeens are needed on Wednesdays, from June 19 to August 7. There are also opportunities to work with the youngest library visitors on Mondays. Applications are available at the library. To apply, return application by Monday, June 10, and attend orientation at the library on Wednesday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m.

Stop by the library, send an email to stairstaff@gmail.com, or give them a call at (517) 458-6510 to sign up today!
