The 44th Annual Town and Country Festival has an exciting lineup of activities and entertainment for attendees to enjoy!
NEW THIS YEAR! Pickleball Tournament: Six different tournaments will be held at the brand new pickleball courts at Wakefield Park on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday afternoon. Brackets are based on age and gender with partners being chosen by random draw. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st place winners only and will be equal to half of registration fees collected for each tournament. Registration discount to those who sign up by June 12! Royalty Contest: This year’s queen contest is Barbie themed! Scheduled Thursday, June 13, at 5:00 p.m., the contest includes four age divisions: 0-3yrs, 4-7yrs, 8-12 yrs, and 13-18 yrs. Participants will compete in their division for the title "Miss Town and Country Festival Princess or Queen." Crowned princesses and queens are invited to ride in the parade on Saturday. Little League Games: Morenci Little League teams participate in baseball and softball games, providing a chance for families and fans to cheer on their Bulldogs. Games are scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and all day on Saturday.
NEW THIS YEAR! Arm Wrestling Strongman Competition: Scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, the competition invites participants to test their strength and endurance. The proceeds from this event will support the Morenci Football Program. Contact Daniel at (517) 320-1450 to register.
Frozen T-Shirt Contest: Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Friday at 5:00 p.m., teams of two are invited to participate in the challenge of thawing and wearing a frozen T-shirt as quickly as possible. It's an entertaining event for both participants and spectators. The cost is $5 per team, and winners receive half of the total entry fees.
Parade: Scheduled for Saturday, June 15, at 11:00 a.m., this year’s parade will feature floats by businesses, community groups, and pageant queens. All are welcome to participate! Click this link for the registration form.
NEW THIS YEAR! Adult Grass Volleyball Tournament: Calling all volleyball alumni and enthusiasts! Morenci Varsity Volleyball is hosting a grass volleyball tournament on Saturday at 1 PM on the tee ball field. The tournament will feature 4v4 adult (18+) co-ed teams, with rosters allowed to have more than four players. Teams must have at least one female and one male on the court at all times. Space is limited, so sign up soon. 1st place team wins a cash prize! More info here.
Corn Hole: This competitive game will take place on the west parking lot on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Registration begins at noon and it is $20 to enter. Partners are chosen by blind draw, with 100% payout to the winners.
Kids Power Wheel Mud Drags: Children ages 3-8 are invited to the north end of Wakefield Park on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. to race on the muddy course. Each participant is entered in a drawing to win a Power Wheel. Trophies are given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Free to enter!
Concerts: Two bands, "Crossing Woodward" and "Lightning Rod & The Thunderbolts," will perform at the festival, entertaining the crowd with their live music and performances on Friday and Saturday nights, 7:00-10:00 p.m. on the main stage. “Crossing Woodward” (Chris Diccion’s band) is making a repeat visit. Lightning Rod Wilson is also a Morenci graduate. He’s been making music since he was a teenager in town.
Merchant and Food Vendors: Local merchants and food vendors set up booths, offering a range of products, crafts, and delicious food options for festival-goers. Merchant vendors interested in setting up at the Town and Country Festival can register by clicking here.
Fireworks: The festival culminates with a dazzling fireworks display, providing a colorful and mesmerizing spectacle for all to enjoy. Fireworks are scheduled Saturday evening at 10:20 p.m.
