The 2024 Back-to-School Bash is scheduled Wednesday, August 14, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in downtown Morenci. This event brings together the collaborative efforts of Seneca Community Church, Kiwanis Club of Morenci, Morenci Area Schools, and the City of Morenci to provide a fun evening for students, families, school staff, and community members to meet, connect, and celebrate the upcoming school year.
During the month of July, the Kiwanis Club of Morenci will be collecting school supplies to distribute to students at the event. To support this effort, Kiwanis is launching an Apple Tree Project on their Facebook page. Apples with specific supply needs for students in grades DK-5 will be listed, and community members can claim an apple to donate items. Engler, Garrow, and Roth in downtown Morenci is the drop-off location for supplies donated through the Apple Tree Project. Additionally, collection boxes will be available at Premier Bank and various local businesses to drop off donations of K-12 school supplies and paper products listed below.
