City of Morenci

The City of Morenci is committed to providing quality water and sewer services for residents and continues to upgrade our infrastructure. In February, residents will see a 4% increase in water and sewer rates, which is broken into two parts. First, in May of 2022, City Council approved a 2% increase that was inadvertently not applied to utility billing as scheduled in July 2022. Second, At the January 2023 meeting, City Council approved a 2% increase for the remainder of the fiscal year (through June 30, 2023). For every 1,000 gallons used, a 4% increase totals $0.31, with the regular monthly fees for water and sewer adding $1.55. With the new rates, a family that uses 4,000 gallons of water per month will see their utility rates increase from $84.09 to $86.88 a month. The new rates help support the continued maintenance and upgrades needed in the City’s water and sewer infrastructure.
